Minutes of the Meeting of Glentworth Parish Council
Date: Wednesday 26th February 2025
Venue: Glentworth Village Hall
Attendance: Councillors: J. Latham (Chairman), W.Annibal (Vice Chairman), C. Montgomery, E. Rook. Also attending: G. Monks (Clerk) & 1 member of the public.
26/02/1 Apologies for absence
C. Hebborn, S. Pickering-Paterson, L. Garbutt and Paul Howitt-Cowan (District Councillor).
26/02/2 Declarations of interest and dispensations from members in accordance with the Local Government

26/02/3 Minutes of the Meeting of Glentworth Parish Council held on Wednesday 8th January 2025
Councillors RESOLVED unanimously to approve the Minutes taken on 8th January 2025.
26/02/4 Chairman and Vice Chairmans report
The Chairman has written a statement for the Tillbridge Solar proposal which has been submitted by the Clerk. He has also met with the Village Hall Committee about future grounds maintenance and proposals will be forthcoming from them along with a plan for future work at the Village Hall. The Chairman also assisted in putting up the new solar speed sign.
The Vice Chairman said that the Church Clock had been fixed by Smith of Derby but they have advised that it is wearing out and will need replacing or an overhaul in time.
26/02/5 Representative Reports
District Council: None.
County Council: None.
Police: The Clerk noted that there was 1 theft recorded in December 2024.
26/02/6 Planning Matters to be Reported and Considered:
WL/2024/00638, Glentworth Hall Northlands Road, Glentworth, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, DN21 5DL, change of use of dwelling and grounds to holiday let/group accommodation – appeal noted.
26/02/7 Accounts
Councillors RESOLVED to approve the financial report and approve electronic payments e778 to e780. The Chairman signed the bank statements to confirm the balance of £10,701.11 in the Natwest current account at 30/01/25 and £15,002.24 in the Liquidity Manager 35 days savings account.

Transfer to Savings Account: Councillors RESOLVED unanimously to ratify the decision to transfer £15,000 from the current account to the 35 day notice savings account with Natwest.
Budgetary items 2025.26: Councillors reviewed the draft budget and RESOLVED unanimously to finalise the budget for 25.26.
26/02/8 To receive reports for discussion
Play Area and Pocket Park risk assessment report by the Clerk: The Clerk provided a report noting that the play equipment was operationally safe and the defibrillators are emergency ready. It was noted that the boat on the play area hasn’t yet had a nameplate added. The Clerk will write to King Charles to request permission to use the name ‘Queen Elizabeth II’.
Play Park Repair quotation: Quotes were discussed and it was felt that these were very high. Councillor Annibal will ask a handyman if he would be qualified to fit new parts to the swings and have the necessary insurance. Councillor Latham will also ask Lindums. It was agreed that the foot strike matting would not be replaced for now.
Solar Proposals: The update sent by Councillor Garbutt was discussed.
Flooding: The Clerk will chase Anglian Water about attending a future meeting.
Christmas Tree: Councillors discussed whether the hole is adequate for the tree. The Clerk will ask Lindums if they would suggest any improvements that can be made.
26/02/9 Correspondence for Information
The Clerk noted the LIVES can provide CPR/ defibrillator training in April/ May. He will liaise with them to find a date for a session at 6pm on a weekday.
