Glentworth Parish Council Update
The Parish Council have arranged for a free defibrillator/ CPR training to be run by LIVES on 17th September at 19.00 at the Village Hall. Please contact the Clerk, if you haven’t done so already, to register to take part as there is a limit to the number of people attend.
An annual risk assessment of play equipment noted that some parts of the swings at the play park may need replacing. Work to remedy this has now been completed and there will be a longer-term project to enhance or replace this provision. Also, following the collapse of a wooden horizontal safety bar between the car park and swings, a picnic bench has been moved in to its place instead.
We recently received a grant aid request from the Village Hall for funds to contribute to the replacement of the hall and kitchen floors and a new flood door. Councillors resolved to approve this.
The grass and hedge cutting of the Village Hall grounds as well as occasional weed killing of the car park is now being arranged and paid for by the Parish Council on a regular basis rather than by the Village Hall Committee. Glendale are providing the service and they already grass cut the Pocket Park.
As you may be aware, the Planning Inspectorate are considering the application for the instatement of the Glentworth/ Harpswell bridleway which was originally granted by the Local Authority but then received objections. The Parish Council have been submitting representations during this process, as well as Lincolnshire County Council, in support of the bridleway reintroduction. We’ll let you know the outcome in due course.
Finally, Councillors are enquiring about the possibility of introducing entry gates to the Village both on Kexby Road and Hanover Hill. An example of these can be seen as you pass through Brattleby. We are engaging with Lincolnshire County Council Highways team for their advice.
